Dave & Christine the Royal Alberta Museum and Red Tail Landing Golf Course {Edmonton Wedding Photographers}

•February 6, 2010 • Leave a Comment

The wedding of Dave and Christine was super relaxed and fun from start to finish.  We started off by taking pre-wedding photos at the Ramada Inn in Nisku/Leduc, followed by Dave & Christine’s “meeting” at the Red Tail Landing golf course, where we shot some of our group formals as well as some fun shots on the putting green (to reflect our golf enthusiast B&G) :)

After this, we headed to the Royal Alberta Museum for something different for our formals shots–cool architecture, beautiful trees, and a great view of the river valley.  Their day started with formals, and ended with a bang, with their ceremony at 6 pm at the Red Tail Landing golf course next to the Edmonton International Airport, followed by a candle-lit reception.

Thanks for the fun time and the great memories.  What a chill and romantic day!  Congrats!

Trash the Dress session–Fun times in downtown Edmonton {Edmonton trash the dress Photographers}

•January 13, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Robert and Lori were married in Cuba in October (seriously guys we wish we could have been there for your destination wedding :) ).  Lori contacted me in early November to shoot a “trash-the-dress” session.  When we met downtown mid-November, it took no time at all for Robert and Lori and Shawn and I to connect and get down to shooting business!  It was so much fun not worrying about the time constraints of a wedding day, and being able to do crazy things with a wedding dress, that the crowds would gasp at if it was your actual wedding day! :)

Thanks for allowing us to let our creative juices flow–we had so much fun.  You were both willing to try anything, and we thank you for that (sorry that there were no puddles that day, however…AND that the fountain was closed for the year :) )

It was great getting to know you both, and it’s awesome to now call you friends.  Enjoy your pics!

Hayley’s 3-month-old baby photo session {Edmonton Baby Photographers}

There’s nothing like the intimacy and believablity of shooting images of children in familiar surroundings.  I love the “real-ness” of capturing images of children playing with their own toys and chilling in their crib/bed.  This is who they are–this is what they know–a studio setting cannot capture this…

Hayley turned 3 months old in late October, and I was asked to capture the happenings of a little one at that stage of development.  Bright-eyed and ready to conquer the world (quote from my new baby pal Hayley: “if only I could hold my head up for a tad longer while on my belly–and man I just wanna move!!  It’s tough being 3 months old!”:) )

Thanks for inviting me to your home to visit your family and to capture your moments!

Corbett Family Photo Session–Emily Murphy Park in the Fall {Edmonton Family Photographers}

Chris and Stacey had their first baby, and baby boy, before the summer of 2009.  As a gift to them, Stacey’s brother and future sister-in-law gave them the gift of a family photo session…What a great idea!

We took advantage of the small number of fall-ish days in 2009 in Edmonton, and met at Emily Murphy park.  The huge trees with colorful leaves gave us the look we were going for.

You were super easy to photograph, and a great family to hang out with for the afternoon!  Enjoy your photos!

Moores Family–Chilly Thanksgiving weekend Family photos in Camrose, Alberta {Camrose Photographers}

All I can say is brrrrr!!  Thanksgiving weekend of 2009 was freezing!!!  Funny thing is, the Moores kids were totally having a great time, despite the cold temperatures!  Hooray for kids!!!

I was born in the lovely city of Camrose, and through a Sherwood Park client, we were referred to the Moores family in Camrose.  One of my fave spots in Camrose is the area around the Camrose ski hill–I especially love the old fences and the train trestle in that area.

Thanks for being so much fun despite the frigid temperatures.  We really enjoyed our time with you, and we are so happy with the result–Enjoy!!!

Meyer Family–Fall family photo session at Emily Murphy Park {Edmonton Family Photographers}

•December 27, 2009 • Leave a Comment

The beauty of fall was cut a bit short for us Edmontonians this year, due to the early frost.  The Meyer family was able to catch a bit of the beauty of fall in early October, before it disappeared.  It was a chilly day, but the Meyer little dudes were extremely cooperative…Makes our job easy!

We had a great time hanging out at this diverse location!  This Christmas, we hope your parents were pleasantly surprised with their surprise prints from your photo session!

Dave & Melodie–September wedding {Edmonton Wedding Photographers}

Dave and Melodie had a full day of fun for their wedding in beautiful September.  From the pre-wedding preparations/”games” that the bridesmaids provided for the groomsmen as part of their tradition, to the ceremony at Assumption Catholic Parish, to the formals at the Royal Alberta Museum, to the tea pouring ceremony/game-filled reception/dance at Sutton Place Hotel downtown Edmonton, it was a day of non-stop shooting for Shawn and I!

Thanks for the laughs and the memories, Dave and Melodie…Enjoy your pics!

Elliott & Shirees–August Wedding {Edmonton Wedding Photographers}

Elliott and Shirees had a beautiful and warm sunny day wedding on August 29th.  Their ceremony took place at Southside Pentecostal Assembly.  For their “formals” we wanted to try a unique location, so we went to Concordia Lutheran College, where Shirees goes to school.  There are so many “typical” locations in Edmonton, and it’s fun to do something different.

Congrats on your wedding!

Our second session with the Taylor Family–Gibbons, Alberta {Fort Saskatchewan Familiy Photographers}

•November 27, 2009 • Leave a Comment

We met the Taylors last year when we were invited to shoot a reunion of families who all share something in common–they all conceived children through invitro fertilization.  Amazing!!!

This summer, we went to Gibbons again to shoot a family session with the Taylors and John’s extended family from Ontario and Great Britain.

We always feel so welcome when we meet up with this family.  Thanks again for the opportunity, and we’ll see you again soon!

My Brother and His Family–The Hartmans playing at a park in Strathcona County {Sherwood Park Family Photographers}

It is such a privilege to capture my client’s moments and loved ones on camera, and then provide them with  images that will be looked back upon over and over again throughout the years.  What an opportunity!

That being said, during the busy spring, summer, and fall, I don’t often get the chance to do sessions for MY family…My oldest brother, Keith, is the only one of my siblings who has kids (other than me and my three energetic boys :) ).  We kept the location simple, and went to an “old school-type” playground near where I live in Sherwood Heights.  Not only do they now have some creative non-studio images of their family to display on their walls, but I have these images in my home too :0).  My kids love looking at pictures of their cousins.

Thanks for hanging out with me on a warm summer day in July!
